Another week and starting with Fiction….. October 28, 2009

I am not to sure about this next paper assignment, but I know it is going to take a lot more than the other ones.  Fiction sounds more  to read but at the same time is more to it.  The Psychological side of the story , the sociological side and the gender.   Omg it si going to be a lot of work to be done on this one.  The story that we discussed in class this past Monday was fun and I am getting the idea of what are we going to do.  Good luck everybody…..

Hide and Seek by Lezley Hayard October 19, 2009

I actually went to go see a play today,  It was one of the best experiences I have ever had.  Seeing a play makes you want more of it and se what the final conclusion will be, I could see who the  pre=”the “>protogonist was , the antagonist, the plot of the play and the symbols.  I will recomended to anyone that like’s drama.  I personally congratulated the actors and told them are great their performance was. Director Gregory R Brown did a good job on directing this play.. Actually one of the actors is a student in San Jac, did  a great job.

A Doll’s House October 13, 2009

A Doll’s House by Ibsen,  a drama story. I think  the  characters as well as the plot and the settings were very well pictured in my heasd has I read the story.  How Nora was dvoted to her husband and  how he treated her as well.  Then the whole thing about the money being borrowee by Nora from the lawyer.  Zhow the lawyer takes advantage and start blackmailing her with telling the husband about their secret If  he was not promoted, then Katherine, Nora’s friend how she pledges to the lawyer not to tell the husband of the money…… Not to forget the doctor who is deeply in love with Nora and lets her know about his illness and that he was dying.  How the  Chritsmas tree symbolizes, Nora’s falling.  all crushed and leaving her house, realizing her husband just did not know how to treat her well.  Even though this play was written alon time ago , there is still women out there who let their husbands treat them like a personal item, not as a human being. 

After seeing the movie “Otello” October 6, 2009

After seeing the movie in class, made me realize how Othello really loved Desdemona , how easy can be for a person to change his feelings towards a person just because of a rumor said.  Iago really plays the malicious man in the movie trying to get everybody out of his way and murdering Rodrigo.  At first I tought he wanted Desdemona to love him , but then I realize that he only cared for himself and at the end of this movie not the book he stays alive , hopefully to suffer and live for the rest of his life with the guilt.   It was just not fair for Desdemona to have lived this wonderful life with Othello her only love, but did not last long, Iago’s  rumors made it all very sad.

I listen to the story about the young teenager who later became a great Judge. A story that everybody should reflect on.  A boy being embarrassed by his friend because he want it to read a book , how he goes to steal the book  to read them and brings them back within a week or two, and how he finds a new book in the shelf  by the same author and decides to take that one too after returning the one just read. So he continue doing this until he read four of them by the same autor, then how he find out how the librarian is telling a tory and why she did what she did, putting a book  every time he went to the library steal a new one.  It just makes me think about how  I can introduce reading more to my own children. My daughter loves to read , she is always checking book out, but my oldest does not like to read that much.  I think kids just need a little push and by putting that little sparkle in their mind about how reading is so important.  Great story by the way, hanks Ms. Wood.
